We hope everyone had a blessed Christmas. I know most of us did not watch our calories over the holidays so it’s time to take control of the extra weight. Last month I mentioned how to decrease your caloric intake and I will mention these again in the 1 Minute Back Clinic.

“Dieting”
The basic rule for losing weight is watching the calories taken in versus the calories burned.
- Exercise is always a part of a diet program. (Begin with walking)
- Drink a large glass of ice water five minutes before each meal.
- Shop for healthy foods; try not to buy junk food.
- Eat smart. Stop when you’ve had one normal portion.
- Don’t fall for gimmicks or fad diets.
- Don’t skip meals and splurge later.
- Don’t eat after 7 o’clock at night.
- It took time to gain weight; it will take time to lose it. (2-4 pounds a month. In twelve months that is 24-48 pounds lost.)
